Even if you take a multivitamin, make sure you are getting nutrients from real food, as well. Whole foods are a necessity if you are going to get the best health benefits. You should not take multiple multivitamins daily unless a doctor has advised you to do so. If you take too many vitamin supplements, you can throw your body’s balance off.
Try to get your daily protein from more than just meat. Many different foods are high in protein. Some other foods with protein are legumes, nuts, soy, and seafood. For the most part, these foods are flexible enough that you can use them to spice up a dish, or you can make them your main course. Make sure to add a variety of protein to your diet to keep things interesting.
You should approach a change to your nutrition regime slowly. If you have a diet that is not nutritious, your eating habits may not last that long and you will revert back to old habits. The best way to change your diet is to make changes that will last. Most diets already include some healthy elements. Consider the healthy foods you eat and continue from there adding additional healthy foods to your diet. Trade in the soda for tea and the chips for fruit. As you become accustomed to these little changes, you can add more, a few at a time. You will find that your small steps pay off quickly!
